Legends of Machina is based on a campaign series on YouTube/web series by Critical Role. Amazon Prime made a animated series out of it with the same people who did the voice cast for the campaign series. The story for the animation is based on the campaign. This a adult animated fantasy series. The first season of the animated series was funded by Kickstarter.
PROS
One of the things I loved about the series was the balance of raunchy humor and seriousness. The show was not afraid to go dark and brutal. The animation took some inspiration from the Invincible animated series. My favorite character was Scanlan because I really enjoyed his sense of humor, and the quick one shot humor. He’s played by Sam Riegel. I also enjoy Percy, Vex, Pike,Keyleth, Vax, and Grog who’s inspired by the Hulk.
The series features two storyline from the campaign series. The first one deals with dragons and the second storyline features a Vampire and a witch that ties into Percy origin story. I enjoyed a lot of the action and charm of the series. The series has a little bit of everything for an entertaining animated series.
CONS
There are moments in the second storyline where it feels like it he story is being dragged out. Not all jokes will land for audience
