The series finale wraps up the six episode story of Kate Bishop played by Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye. Vincent D’Onofrio finally makes his MCU debut as the returning Kingpin from his Netflix potrayl.
PROS
No surprise Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin again. Was the best part of the finale. He’s stronger and intimidating like he was in Netflix series. His fight with Kate Bishop shows how tough and strong he is like his comic book counterpart.
I thought the short comedy bits between Yelena Belova played by Florence Pugh and Kate Bishop was another highlight and hopefully not the last time we see them together. Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld chemistry on screen was fantastic. We see the mentor and student relationship or the dynamic duo bond the two have as Clint and Kate.
As all of Marvel Studios tv live action series the choreography was good. The fights at the gala and Rockefeller center was fun to watch especially all of the trick arrows that was used.
CONS
We get a bad Martha moment between Yelena and Clint. The whole interaction between the two was poor and horribly written. Missed opportunity to really hit this moment for two characters who loved Natasha.
The series didn’t do a good job setting up Echoe’s series. The interacting between Maya and Kingpin was flat and another missed opportunity. Kingpin was wasted after there moment.
Tony Dalton as Swordsman who was a mentor to Clint Barton in the comic books was wasted and pointless. Vera Farmiga as Kate’s mom was another wasted moment.
OVERALL 6.5/10
If you like musicals we get a 5 minute musical from the Rogers show. There is no mid credit scene and nothing from the finale to set up the next Marvel Studios project. Hawkeye is easily the weakest of the four live action series.
