A Quiet Place Part Two, continues the story of the Abbot family, who are traveling a post-apocalyptic world with blind monters with super hearing have taken over the world. The film stars returning actress Emily Blunt, with new co stars Cillian Murphy, and Djimon Hounsou. MINOR SPOILERS.
PROS
I loved the opening of the film, because as seen in the trailers it’s a flashback to the very beginning of the attack. It was nice to see Lee Abbot again played by John Krasinski. Audience will have some idea of where these blind creatures came from. Lots of good thrilling action scenes.
I liked Cillian Murphy ‘s character named Emmett who has a connection with Lee and the Abbot family. Audience will get why he struggles to trust people anymore in the post-apocalyptic world. He’s a survivor and knows the hard choice will be the only to survive.
I liked watching the Abbot family work together as they travel to survive. What kept them alive is the family sticking together and working together to survive. The CG for the blind monster was presented perfectly. They were creepy and savage. The sequel present a fee good jump scenes.
CONS
Regan Abbot the daughter who’s deaf played by Millicent Simmonds. I found her to frustrating at times with the choices she makes in act one. For an actress who’s not deaf in real life she did put in a good leading performance with story and material given. The writing and direction for the sequel is frustrating at times.
The sequel had some good ideas but looked like it was thrown at a wall in hopes something sticks. Lots of things shown that wasn’t explained or expand. Idk what John Krasinski was thinking but POC characters were killed very quickly. I think every POC we see on screen dies.
OVERALL 7/10
A Quiet Place Part Two is a solid sequel with a intense action moments. The script does have issues with the story direction John Krasinski takes the Abbot family after the first film.
