The first episode of DC Comics live action Titans was release this morning and I was able to see it at the right time. Minor Spoilers
PROS
The two main focus in the pilot is Dick Grayson and Raven. The two characters are at a crossroads. The action is fantastic, and I’m glad to say Robin does not kill anyone. Teagan Croft as Raven, Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, and Anna Diop shines well in the first episode. Each character are introduce sepreatly in the pilot. The blend of supernatural, syfi, and relastic grittyness blends very well for the series tone. There’s is a lot story building in the pilot.
Con
We don’t see much of Beast Boy but I’m sure we will see plenty of him going forward. The violence is too much, and doesnt need it at times, but like all pilots it is setting the tone to the audience of what kind of show this will be. My other con is that the series doesn’t give proper credit to the creators from the comic books. No mention of Marv Wolfman, George Perez, Bill Finger, Bob Kane, or Steve Ditko on the opening or closing credits. Which I find very disappointing from DC Comics and Warner Brothers.
Overall
The Titans series is a good show, and there’s a lot of potential going forward. Titans pilot sets up an interesting story for season one. The series will drop a new episode at 6AM United States Eastern time on the DC Universe app every Friday.
